A Lecture by Former Vice Prime-Minister, State Minister of Georgia for Reintegration; Former Foreign Minister, Eka Tkeshelashvili
“…National branding basically for the country at the 20th century and the end of it, you have many actors at the global scene which are already well established and then the national branding really encompasses more for streamlining what could be the new elements of the branding rather than an initial start-up of creating even the basic understanding about the country…”

MGT602 - Module 2 Overview

Module description

This module examines the effect of moods and emotions on the workplace.  Humans are emotional creatures, and to ignore this fact during work hours is inappropriate in the study of organizational behavior.  This chapter examines the causes of, and influences on, emotion.  Emotional intelligence is explored, as are the various ways emotions play out in the work environment.

Personality and values are major shapers of behavior.  In order for managers to predict behavior, they must know the personalities of those who work for them.  The module starts out with a review of the research on personality and its relationship to behavior and ends by describing how values shape many of our work-related behaviors.

The old saw is that “perception is reality” and managers must learn what “reality” their workers are reacting to in order to effectively predict behavior.  This module examines how perception acts to create an employee’s view of reality and modifies decision-making.
